3 Cities Things to See

[Updated 03 September 2024]

Hi 😊 here's my list of things to visit and see in 3 Cities.

A reminder that the 3 Cities include: Vittoriosa/Birgu, Cospicua/Bormla, Senglea/Isla 😊

All links in the titles will take you to the Google Maps location of highlighted place.

The Inquisitor's Palace - Vittoriosa/Birgu

One of my favourite places. A truly historic building, that's not for everyone. Has a court room, prisons, and a torture chamber. The subject matter can be grim, but also fascinating. There are actual confiscated "magical" items.

Fort St Angelo - Vittoriosa/Birgu

A massive historic fort which has been turned into a museum. Has interesting sections, but also great views of the harbour. Be sure to walk all the way to the very top.

Church of St Lawrence - Vittoriosa/Birgu

A historic church used by the Knights of St John. Full of historic and precious items.

Church of Child Mary - Senglea/Isla

The church is not historic as it was completely destroyed in WW2. However, if you walk all the way inside the church and to the right, there's a sacred place dedicated to Jesus carrying the cross. A special vibe in my opinion. You can find the opening times of the church here.

Gardjola Gardens - Senglea/Isla

Very small garden with a fantastic view of the Grand Harbour. We end our 3 Cities Walking Tour here.

Notre Dame Gate & the Cottonera Lines - Cospicua/Bormla

Off the beaten path! Not many people visit here, but if the weather's pleasant, i.e. not too hot, it can be a really unique experience. You will walk along bastions that are huge, and you'll encounter many strange things like schools, fields, public housing, gardens, and abandoned garages. Again, needs a bit of planning.
