Length: 2 hours.
Price: Pay what you want. (€12 per person is a good rule of thumb) If you pay more, it is much appreciated 🙏
Unfortunately, I don't accept large group bookings of 5+ people.
Please meet me inside the Upper Barrakka Gardens. Walk through the Green Wooden Gate of the Upper Barrakka Gardens; and walk straight ahead. Keep walking straight ahead, past the fountain on your right. After you pass through the first arch, there will be a large stone urn on your left. The large stone urn will be dedicated to Sir Thomas Fremantle. I will have an umbrella with a silver-top and black-underside. Please ask for "Ben" and not the "Free Tour" :)
Our route visits the most important sites of Valletta with a significant section that is not visited by other tour groups.
I retain the right to adjust and change the itinerary according to my judgement and due to external factors beyond my control 😊
Above you can see the route we will take.
!HEAT WARNING! If you're booking a late afternoon tour with me, I strongly advise that you do not walk around a lot in the afternoon heat (from 1pm to 4pm) before the tour! I've had quite a few people either cancel their booking or leave the tour early due to heat stroke! So please again, avoid walking around in the sun from 1pm to 4pm.
If some dates in the future are not available it's because I generally make booking available the month before - to avoid unnecessary cancellations (which are rare).
I strongly recommend you visit St John's co-Cathedral before the tour. I believe it's the #1 site of Valletta, if not all of Malta
Entrance is €15, €12 for students or over 60 years of age.
You can buy tickets here (which allows you to skip the queue): https://www.stjohnscocathedral.com/buy-tickets/
An audio guide is included. And I would recommend you leave at least 1 or 1.5 hours for the visit.
It's open Monday to Saturday 09:00 to 16:15.
On Sunday it's only open as a church at specific times. The times can be found here: https://www.quddies.com.mt/churches/361/San-Gwann/Valletta
I've compiled, and continually update, a list of Food & Drink recommendations, which can be visited here: Valletta Food & Drink recommendations.
